Methamphetamine and Neurotoxicity
Dr.Hossein Zhaleh

Methamphetamine is a strong stimulant of the central nervous system, which is mainly used as an addictive drug. Methamphetamine increases the concentration of intracellular calcium, the expression of many pro-inflammatory factors such as IL-1b, IL-6, and oxidative factors like ROS and RNS in neural cells and causes severe damage to the central nervous system.
